Summer Fun

So Sydney & Brooke tried out Soccer for the first time. Each class they lasted about 10 minutes. Until the last day when they learned how to do headers...bounce the ball off your head and then they decided that they just loved Soccer!

This summer we have had the opportunity to participate in a summer co-op camp. The kids have really enjoyed spending time with their friends. It has given us lots of oppotunity for outdoor time.

East Lake

So this weekend we had the opportunity to go up to East lake which is about 1 hour south of Bend to stay at my Uncles TP. It is a full size TP that is fully furnished with electricity and a nice warm fireplace. It was our kind of camping.

The inside is full of Indian memorabilia. It was really cool for the kids to enjoy. Dayne just finished his storyline program in school on Native American Indians so he loved telling us the stories about all of the stuff inside.

Sydney is my nature girl...she enjoyed every bit of the rainy and cold weekend and never complained.
How big can your eyes get!
The property is near a pumas pit which also is full of allot of obsidian rocks.

Memorial Day Weekend

Our family tradition for Memorial Day weekend is to go to my families cabin on the Owyhee Reservior, which is over near the east side of Oregon. It was a beautiful weekend. 85 degrees and afternoon thunderstorms.
Fishing was the highlight. All the kids really enjoyed catching and releasing lots of crappie fish.

Dayne can now fish without assistance and loves it!

Brooke and Sydney enjoyed releasing the fish back in the water and watching them swim home :)
Water was the relief of the weekend. It was really warm but nice to know that summer is on its way!

Utah

My wonderful sister in law invited me to come stay with her for Women's Conference at BYU. So my mom and I took the kids and went down to American Fork, UT for a few days. We had a great time. The kids got to play with their cousins while the women were able to spend a few days being spiritually revived.

They have a community pool that is just awesome. Indoor slides just at the local rec center. I think our town needs to take advise from this place. My kids were never board.

After a hard day of playing the kids sat down to enjoy a Red Box movie. Our favorite thing, with a $1 movie you just can't go wrong.

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Oregon Coast last week! It was so beautiful and there was no wind. We visiting every tide pool that we could find and made lots of sand castles.

Downtown Newport checking out the Sea Lions.

We were at one of the tide pools and a coastal ranger showed the kids how to find the little crabs. They had a great time holding everyone they could find.

We just love the lighthouses along the coast. I believe we have visited everyone now in Oregon.

Sydney and Brooke could have stayed all day in the sand if we would have let them. They were so entertained by all of the little sea creatures. Whether dead or alive.

We made a quick trip up to Seattle for the weekend to visit Jeff's family. We had a great weekend visiting with everyone. This is the backyard of one of his Aunt's home. The kids got to go swimming and really had a great time. Thanks to 2 of Jeff's cousins Brooke is safe and sound. She had watched Ali jump in the pool from the hot tub and figured it would be fun too. But it was too deep and she couldn't swim. She did a great job trying to bob until the 2 cousins jumped in fully clothed and saved her! I will always be greatful to their quick reaction.

I went out to the garage and pulled out all of the summer clothes for the girls and they put them on and went straight outside to enjoy the sun. It is 80 degrees today! It is just beautiful and has really helped our attitudes. We love the sun!

This is a painting that Ali made of our new dog. I just really thought it was great.

This is a painting that Dayne did when the artist in resident came to school last week. It is a painting of "Stary Nights". He was so proud of himself.

Dayne just finished his storyline program at school on Native American Indians. This was his mask that he had a great time making.
